Have you ever tried to print the information about the entities in Project System 2006? It is possible now. Every entity has the possibility to print. The function 'Print' generates the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file. You can save this file on disk or you can print it on your printer. This functionality is very useful if you want to archive the information about the projects, or if you want to show them your boss or share by the internet. In easy way you can send these files to your contractors. Printing from Adobe Portable Document Format prevents us against the problem with printer configuration. All the information about the fonts and images are stored in the file.

Emails about new comments!

Project System 2006 is sending the emails about the new comments associated with the project. If you want to subscribe comments please click the 'Subscribe Comments' button on the 'List of Comments' page of the project. If you subscribe the comments in the project then you will receive the emails which will inform you about new comment in this project. Each time if the users leave the comment you will receive the email containing the complex information about the comment. If you want to unsubscribe comments please click the 'Unsubscribe Comments' button in the 'List of Comments' page of the project.

Uploading files is working!

Now you are able to upload files associated with the project in the Project System 2006. Try to notice that I split files connected with the project in two groups. First group contains only images. The second group contains only documents. The system stores two different formats of the image. First format is a thumbnail. The second format of the image is the original image which you upload on the server. The system generates automatically thumbnail of the image after uploading the image on the server. This was done in this way because images are displayed as thumbnails on the pages containing information about the project and on the page presenting the list of images associated with the project. If you click on the thumbnail you will see the original image in the original size. This solution gives us the possibility to speed up downloading the lists of images. All thumbnails of the images have smaller size than the original images. The documents in the library are presented as a list of details. If you click on the name of the document you will start downloading the file. You can upload as many documents and images as you want.

Two new users joined our Soneco Community yesterday: Thomas Sperber and Alexa Schroll. We started together the new thread in the forum FPS 2.0 - Feature Requests. This discussion is about a notification by email users which will subscribe the comments in the Fackelmann Project System 2.0. IMHO: The best solution will be if every user will decide when he would be notified by email . This was the first discussion but we will wait for others.

Second issue of the Soneco Partner Newsletter

There is a second issue of the Soneco Partner Newsletter. In this issue we have information about the Soneco Community. Soneco Community is the portal which provides the communication between users and Soneco Technologies. Now we have the possibility to hear people requests. The Soneco Community is connected with our weblogs. It means that information written in the weblog will be visible automatically on the Soneco Community.

The Soneco Partner Newsletter informed us that there is a new tutorial titled How to create a new Project Duty? The good news for users of our software is that the Fackelmann Project System 2.0 is sending emails now. It means that the users of the Fackelmann Project System 2.0 will be informed about what happen in their projects.

Soneco Community Server started.

Today (12th of May 2006) I have installed Community Server. Now we are able to communicate with our custommers, manage bugs in our application and we are able to talk about new functionality in our software. We are able to write the weblogs about our work. Now we will have the possiblity to present our software. I think that we will meet customers friendly. We will wait for the feedback from their site. A blog is a simple but powerful publishing tool which enables our company to easily share content. We will test the RSS channels and we will try to integrated our blogs with the Soneco Partner Newsletter.
